Have you spotted the beautiful illustrations of the dingy mocha moth, sand lizard and lapwing<\/u><\/a> featured on the newest products in our store? These special species are all part of Dorset Wildlife Trust\u2019s ambitious Species Recovery Programme.<\/p>

In 2023, Dorset Wildlife Trust was awarded a share of a grant from Natural England to help accelerate the recovery of some of Dorset\u2019s most rare and threatened species. Since then, the Species Recovery Programme has implemented a series of practical interventions to create and improve the habitat for a set of ten specially selected 'Priority Species' across 11 of our nature reserves. These species include the dingy mocha, sand lizard and lapwing. The beautiful illustrations of these species, now available on clothing for the first time, were created by our talented in-house designer Delphine to promote and support the scheme.<\/p>

Thanks to the programme, exciting progress has been made, including the restoration of wetlands for lapwing, targeted coppicing to help encourage dingy mocha larvae and the reintroduction of 75 juvenile sand lizards to Tadnoll and Winfrith Heath. By wearing items from the Species Recovery Collection<\/u><\/a>, you can help spread the word and champion the scheme, while funding vital work to protect wildlife species across Dorset.<\/p>
